Caring for your goodies
Candles
- For the best fragrance throw and burn, burn your candles within 12 to 16 months of purchase. You can still burn them after, but the scent may begin to fade.
- To preserve scent and appearance, store unused candles in a cool, dark place.
- First burn - trim your wick to 1/4 inch, place on a stable heat resistant surface and burn for 1 to 3 hours to ensure you have a full melt pool. Putting your candle out too soon can lead to tunneling and waste.
- Ensure your melt pool and the area around the wick is free of debris
- After the first burn, let your candle burn for 3- 4 hours each time for optimal fragrance release and even burning. Too long can or too short can lead to a poor experience and wasted candle.
- Trim your wick between burns to ensure a clean, controlled burn.
- Do NOT burn your candle all the way to the end. Leave a little wax so that the vessel doesn't overheat.
- Planning to reuse your vessel? Spoon out the cooled wax and pop out the wick stump. Use a candle warmer to soften the wax and pour it out if needed. Apricot coconut soy wax is soft and responds well to warm water.
- Don't burn your candles near wind, vents or other air currents
- Don't move a burning candle or burn unattended
Reed Diffusers
- Remove the reed diffuser lid and/or stopper then add reeds directly into the bottle and oil.
- Place your reed diffuser on a raised surface so the scent flows freely through your space.
- Allow up to 48 hours for the scent to climb up the reeds and dissipate into the air.
- Looking for a stronger fragrance throw? Add more reeds. Looking for a softer throw, start out with a smaller amount or remove some reeds.
- Avoid contact between your skin and the scented oil. Wash your hands immediately if touching the reeds directly after the oil has saturated them.
- Reed diffusers should last 3 to 6 months if cared for correctly. If you notice the scent has faded, check your reeds and try replacing them with fresh ones.
- Do not ingest the oil or use on skin.
- Do not dispose of excess or old oil through trains, dispose of old oils through the trash or follow your local waste management policies.
